EXPERIENCE:

I have taught Functional Skills k-2, Cross Categorical 7-8 and Functional Skills 6-8. I am licensed in both Functional Skills and Cross Categorical Special Education.  I also work at iCan House in Winston-Salem, part-time.  This organization works with children and adults with special needs to teach social skills through direct instruction.  I am a facilitator with Family Services in Winston-Salem.  We work with at risk youth and their families and utilize an evidence-based practice to promote greater outcomes/family bonds and decrease drug use and incarceration.

BIOGRAPHY:

I am a passionate teacher and consider myself to be a life long learner.  I plan to continue my career as a graduate student to ensure that my practices remain current.  When I am not teaching or in class, I spend time with my Bernedoodle, Wyatt, garden, camp and run. I am originally from New Hampshire, so spending time in nature brings me joy.  I have wonderful friends and family.  Teaching and working with our amazing students is the most important thing I do.  I am passionate about creating individualized instruction that best meet the needs of each of my students.
