I have been teaching since 2000. I began my career teaching 8th Grade Language Arts in Lufkin, Texas.  After moving to North Carolina in 2001, I taught Language Arts and Social Studies for 4 years. I went on to earn my ESL certification and moved to Randolph County Schools as a K-12 ESL teacher. I taught ESL for 7 years in several schools throughout the county, as well teaching ESL at Randolph Community College.  I have also been enrolled  at ASU working on my Master degree in Higher Education. In 2012, I moved to ATMS as an 8th Grade Social Studies teacher. In 2017, I began teaching 8th grade Language Arts.

I am originally from Northwestern Pennsylvania. I lived in Nacogdoches, Texas for 12 years before moving to North Carolina in 2001. I have four sons aged 20 -34 who live all over the United States. My personal hobbies include horseback riding, camping and any kind of water sports.

I love teaching middle school, because the students come to me as timid young children, and leave for high school as confident young adults. I really enjoy teaching 8th Grade Social Studies because of its concentration is US History. The students are excited to learn the history of our government and how the expansion from East to West and globally for the last 500 years has affected our culture.
