My name is Cory Bentley and I am excited to be your student’s 8th Grade Science teacher this year.  I am a Trinity native and graduate of Trinity High School.  I attended college at the  University of North Carolina at Greensboro for both my Undergraduate degree and my Master's degree.  I have been happily married to my beautiful wife for five years and we live in Archdale with a sweet and energetic four-year old, Ellis, an adorable, sweet one-year old, Allie-Cate, and our super smart dog, Bella.

This year we will cover many different topics in the three branches of Science:  Physical Science, Earth Science, and Life Science.  Everything on our planet is made up of tiny particles called atoms.  Throughout the year we will uncover the importance of these particles and how they bond together to create every living thing and every non-living thing on earth.  We will travel back in geologic time and discover the origins of our planet and the development of the rocks that exist today.  We will learn about the properties of water and the oceans that cover our planet.  We will also learn about cells, the building blocks of life, and the impact of viruses and infectious diseases on organisms...Oh yeah, Did I forget to mention that DEAD PIGS ARE FUN?!?!?

Physical Science:  Chemistry & Energy Rescources

Earth Science:  The Hydrosphere, Geologic Time, & Fossils

Life Science:  History of Earth, Change Over Time, Ecology/Ecosystems, Biotechnology, & Microbiology
