The ATMS PTO will be having a walk-a-thon on Friday, April 12.  This will take place during the school day.  Help us raise money for a class set of Chromebooks.  The top three students who raise the most money will earn cash prizes.  Anyone raising $25 will earn a DJ Party and anyone raising $75 or more will win time at the Game Truck.  Students will be given envelopes to collect the money.  Money can be turned into homeroom teachers.  We will collect money on March 22, March 28, April 5 and April 11.  Each day when money is due we will have a drawing for more cash prizes. Thank you for your much needed support with this fundraiser.

8th grade parents and students are invited to an information session about attending Uwharrie Ridge 6-12 for their high school careers.  Faculty and staff from Uwharrie Ridge will be at our school on March 20 at 6:00pm to share information and then be available to field questions and comments about Uwharrie Ridge.

We will be taking the NC Check In’s Tuesday & Wednesday this week for our benchmarks.   Please help us by having your student on time.  Our goal is perfect attendance for these two days.

8th grade students that have returned their permission slips and payment for the Civil Rights Field Trip will be going in the coming days. Students that have Ms. Jones for Science will be going Monday, 3/18. Mrs. Craft - Thursday, 3/21. Mr. Bentley - Monday, 3/25. Please help us by having your student on time these mornings.  Students need to bring their bookbags each day and we will be back at school in time for regular lunch in the cafeteria. If you are a chaperone for the trip, please be at the school by 7:45 to check in and get your materials for the day from Mr. Davis in room 308. Chaperones on 3/25 need to check in with Mrs. Williams in room 102.  Please encourage your student to be on their best behavior for the trip so we represent ATMS well while we are touring the museum. Please contact Mr. Hal Davis if you have any questions contact Hal Davis. h1davis@randolph.k12.nc.us.

Only 150 yearbooks are available to be purchased!  Once these books have been purchased, no more books can be ordered.  We will have a special March Madness Sale starting on Monday, March 18 through Friday, March 29.  For these two weeks, yearbooks will be on sale for $55.00.  Books can be purchased at school or online (at www.yearbookforever.com).  If purchasing online, add the coupon code MarchMadness19 at checkout to receive the discounted price.  All students who have not purchased a yearbook at this point will receive a reminder note and coupon to use for this sale by Tuesday of this week.  If you have any questions about purchasing a yearbook, please contact Mr. Bentley.

Our Annual Pennies for Patient's Campaign will continue this week.  Please continue to send it collected money to your student's lunch teacher for their class collection.  The class that collects the most money will win lunch catered by Olive Garden and the 2nd place class will win a doughnut party.  The final day to send in money will be Thursday, March 28.  Any student who brings in $10.00 will receive a Kona Ice Coupon for our Kona Ice Day in April.  Student Council members will be outside in the car rider line again on Tuesday so you can "Clean Out Your Console" and donate funds then.

Spring pictures will be Friday March 22.

Students between the age of 12 and 15 who have an interest in the Law Enforcement Profession are encouraged to attend the Junior Sheriff’s Academy.  Applications for the academy are available in the main office.

Cell phones are continuing to be a distraction.  They are becoming a major disruption to the learning environment in our classrooms.  Cell phones are to be out of sight and silent between 7:45 – 2:50. Starting on Monday, March 11, any cell phone collected by administration will be locked in the office until a parent or guardian can pick it up.  The hours to pick up cell phones will be 7:00 – 4:00.  Please help us by reminding your student not to have their cell phone out at school.

Make sure your student has paid any outstanding cafeteria charges.  These charges are starting to add up.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Please help us by having your student at school and on time each day.  Students need to be in their classroom and ready to start the day at 7:45.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Thank you and have a nice evening.
