ATMS Athletics

 

All athletic events start at 4:30 pm. 

 

ALL ATHLETES MUST HAVE A CURRENT PHYSICAL (PHYSICALS ARE GOOD FOR 395 DAYS AS OF 5/3/2016) ON FILE IN ORDER TO TRY OUT FOR ANY TEAM. THAT PHYSICAL MUST BE ON THE APPROPRIATE NCHSAA FORM. 

 

All ATMS athletic tryoutS and practices are closed to the public. Please respect this policy and pick your athlete up in the front of the school at the end of the day. Thank you.

 

Randolph County Board of Education Policy in regards to Athletics:

 

Regulation Code: 3620-R(3) Extracurricular Activites and Student Organizations

 

Middle School Interscholastic Athletics/Cheerleading

Students must pass at least one less course than the number of required core courses each semester and meet promotion standards established by the LEA. If an athlete is "academically eligible" or "academically ineligible at the beginning of any semester, that status is retained throughout the full semester. Promotion is defined as progressing to the next grade. (Note: An athlete becomes eligible or ineligible on the first day of the new semester. A student who is promoted by the sixth grade to the seventh grade automatically meets course requirements for the first semester of the seventh grade.

Students are allowed to have only one unsatisfactory conduct grade per quarter for all subjects taken during the past quarter. A player must have been in attendance at least 85% of the previous semester. The principal must have legal evidence of the birth date of the student. To be eligible, a seventh or eighth grade student can be no older than age 15 as of October 16th in the year of consideration. Student eligibility termination shall be effective with the issuance of report cards for each grading period.
